Here are some general recipes that you can make with oats:
Overnight Oats: Combine 1/2 cup of rolled oats, 1/2 cup of milk (or almond milk, soy milk, or any milk alternative), 1 tablespoon of honey, and a pinch of salt in a jar or container. Let the mixture sit in the fridge overnight. In the morning, top with fresh fruits, nuts, and seeds of your choice.
Oatmeal Cookies: Mix together 1/2 cup of softened butter, 1/2 cup of white sugar, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1 egg, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, mix together 1 cup of flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1 cup of rolled oats. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips or raisins. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes.
Oatmeal Pancakes: Mix together 1/2 cup of rolled oats, 1/2 cup of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 egg. Add 1/2 cup of milk and mix until smooth. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and pour 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake. Cook until bubbles appear on the surface, then flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
These are just a few examples of the many recipes you can make with oats. You can also use oats as a topping for yogurt or fruit, or add them to smoothies for extra fiber and nutrition.
